Re: ECM controlled carb trouble shoot SOLVED!
A final update for anyone that was curious. After many weeks of dinking with it for an hour or two at a time, The 83 Camino is through emissions! Here's the highlights of what I had to do:
ECM was not a problem.
New thermostat. Replaced the incorrect 160deg with a proper 195deg.
Replaced nonfunctioning and leaking EGR control solenoid.
Cleaned out clogged EGR valve.
New PCV valve and associated nasty vac hoses.
Repair vac hose to EFE diaphragm correcting a vac leak at startup.
Re set base idle mixture screw settings by vacuum with the O2 out of the loop.
Finally .
