I am no rookie to edelbrock carbs but Ive never dealt with the avs before. I am having a problem with it drowning itself after wot. I have an wide band o2 installed reads about 13.1 under normal driving drops to about 12.3 at wot. As soon as I let off accelerator (either quickly or slowly) it bogs a dies. Idles well accelerates well. I am running a electric pump(holley blue) set at about 7psi.

7 psi on an edelbrock is pushing it they like about 5 psi but i think you should be ok

It sounds to me like a float problem. It only does this after WOT after you let off or during? ??

I guess its possible your fuel bowls are going empty and not replenishing fast enough.

Do you know for sure if its flooding itself or not getting enough fuel? If its flooding id try a fuel pressure regulator drop it down to 5psi but either way id check those floats in the carb

What motor is this carb on?

It on a 455 olds. I know its flooding because I can watch the air fuel jump up right after hits like 8:1 then dies.

I know it's not a Edelbrock AVS, but the carb on my pick-up was acting the same way as you are describing. It's a Holley 770 Street Avenger, the problem was solved by lowering the floats and fuel pressurre a little.

I think for sure its a fuel pressure problem. When i was running 7psi on my edelbrock fuel kept pushing past the needle and seat and just kept pumping and flooding the bowls. Edelbrock calls for no more than 5.5 psi they are really sensitive to pressure i got a holley regulator and dropped it down to 5psi my problems went away

No go on this. I checked my psi on fuel pump I already had it set at 5. Back to the drawing board.

Are your floats set at 1/2 inch? Take the top off the carb flip the top over and measure the distance of the floats from the top of the carb. I set mine at 1/2inch which is probly too much but i think thats what edelbrock calls for. Maybe if you try 5/8 may not flood out as bad.

Or maybe the needle and seat is dirty. Those shut of fuel pressure when bowls are full. If its dirty it may not shut and the fuel pump will just keep pumping and flood the thing. Ive had this happen too.

Take the idle mix screws out then shoot some carb cleaner or compressed air in there that should clean the needle and seat. If that dont help id check those floats.
