So I have a 1406 on my olds 350, and I just wanted to make sure my vacuum lines are hooked up correctly. I know my vac. advance for the dist. is right.

My question is about the transmission vac. Should it be to the manifold or to the carb? When I drove it It didn't seem like it wanted to shift into third, I was on all back roads (I had open headers) and was thinking maybe couldn't get up to speed? I was up to like 45ish.

I'm also might be a little low on transmission fluid. What do you think?

Back of the carb or on the manifold shouldn't make any difference assuming your trans even needs vacuum to work (I know TH350's do, but the 200-4R's do not). If it's a TH350, then you need to double-check the throttle valve cable, as incorrect adjustment will stop it from shifting into 3rd.

Yeah I definitely have to adjust the cable then. I thought it wouldn't make a difference if it wasn't connected (just took it for short drives) but obviously it does.

Any tips on proper adjustment??
