I know, I know, sounds like the opening line for a joke..........
BUT, has anyone ever done it?
Everything you read about the SP2P is negative for a "performance" aspect, but seems tailor made for a small port stock 260.... Found one I could get for about $200 less than a Performer, and with a small 4bbl would get rid of the crappy Dualjet in the process. Any real world experience out there, or is my brain still frozen from too many hours in the deer stand lately?

good for low end power. same as the performer.?

I had never even heard of the SP2P before. That said, if you want to try it, go for it. Experimentation is often interesting! Are the ports on the 260 heads smaller than those on the performer?

haven't had the intake off yet, but I hear they're a bit on the small side for a reg Performer intake.
Port mis-match would be a big issue.

One member used the one I had with success on a 260. Too bad I sold it, I now have a 260. I was considering using my Performer on my 260 with the jets and primary rods from the stock Dualjet into a 800 cfm Qjet I have. But for 10 hp, it is a lot of work and mileage and exceptable acceleration as is. They have similar sized ports but higher up in the head which should be better than the later 307 swirl port heads. Also a smaller chamber but smaller valves to feed that hungry 7.8 to 1 260 ci monster! Get a Qjet and swap, jets, rods and the APT setting from the Dualjet. Of course the secondary rods and air door setting would need some fine tuning. Do you have dual exhaust? Add 2" duals if you don't.

Not much of a choice with the carb flange on the intake

It's listed as a "spread bore " intake, yet has two bolt patterns on it. Did Holley (or others) make a spread bore type carb with a square bore bolt pattern?

Holley has 2 spread bore carbs, 4165 w/ mechanical secondaries & 4175 w/ vacuum secondaries. These have the Q-Jet mount pattern. They are generally 650 CFM rated.
