Car starts great when cold but after driving more than 20 minutes she doesnt want to start up. I think its because the choke gets too hot to close back up. wait 35 minutes and it fires up. Input?

Easy enough to check. Take air cleaner off once warm and see if blade fully open or closed. Sounds more like Vapor lock from your description. Do you have any spacers under the carb? Is the fuel line run across the engine or close to exhaust?

Are you using an edelbrock carb? They seem to like to vapor lock when its hot outside. If you crack the throttle open a little while cranking will it start? My eddie in my truck is like that. on start up after the engine is hot in the summer, it doesn't want to start unless you crack the throttle a little bit. If the motor is still hot when you restart it, the choke shouldn't be snapping back shut.

I doubt it's the choke or the carb at all. It sounds like the starter is heat soaked, you know where the headers cross over the start solenoid...try a heat shield over the starter

So after driving a bit more. It doesnt seem to be the heat. It appears to be more of an oil pressure issue. On start up oil pressure stays around 45-50 and as i drive slowly works its way down to 30ish when driving and 10-15 at red lights and thats when it really wants to die. The Oil says its full and its not leaking. possible problems??

the oil pressure sounds ok to me and low oil pressure would not cause the car not to start...that is not until the engine is siezed

I think its boiling fuel. I put royal purple coolant additive in it. doesnt seem to help. When the car hits 220f it will not stay running at a stop in gear. I dont know what i can do to keep the fuel cooler. 🙁

When you stop the car after 20 minutes and it won't restart have you tried putting the gas pedal on the floor when trying to start it. It sounds like it's dumping fuel
