I think that's actually some sort of resistor on those. Open the gray cover and see what's in it. Also, it's hard to tell in the pic, but I do not think that the orange is hooked up to anything on the car side.

inline fuse as in the grey connector or the red connector thats got nothing connected to it, sorry I'm just a noob that does not know how to do any of this. Also do you use the ohm or volt scale when checking for power? Probably the volt scale

Check the gray connector, use the volt setting. It's hard to see by those pictures which wires are connected. If you can unbundle that or post which wires are connected to what, that would be helpful.

Basically you should have these on the radio side: Orange (constant 12V), Red (Key on 12V), Black (Ground)
The rest are for speakers. They should go to these on the car side: Orange (constant 12V), Yellow(Key on), Black (Ground)

I'm pretty sure those are the colors, but double check with your meter or test light first.

so just about 30 minutes ago I was screwing with the radio while the key was on and it turned on! I think it may be a lose connection now...

So does that mean that it just turns on or can we actually listen to the damn radio while were working on the car 😀 ?
