ok im building a 70 olds 350, i had it bored 30 over, im using stock #6 heads that i had the shop port and polish and a valve job putting bigger valves springs etc.. i picked up the heads and grit came out of them like sand or something, inside the block where the water passes thru looked real ditry, according to the shop he hot tanked the block..i took the block and head to the carwash and sprayed the hell out of them, the block and a brown water pouring from it, as the heads looked clean as well, my question is would that be enough or should i take it back..also when it comes to a port and polishing job what do shops go by, i heard the exhaust gasket is this true? just wondering and feed back will be helpful. thanks
