I just finished wiring up my intrepid fans..Woo Hoo! Any ways i turned it over and let the engine warm up. Before the fan swap the temp needle wouldn't go past a 1/2 on the temp guage with the mechanical fan now it rises up to right under 220. The fans kick on and stay on for a bout 60-90 seconds before shutting off. The temp drops down a bit too. It was cool outside and since it's all apart no test drive.. The temp switch is mounted on the t-stat housing with a stock t-stat and only low speed is hooked up. Does this sound normal? Is this too hot? The car didn't puke antifreeze or anything..... But i don't want it to happen on a hot summer day.

Your best bet is to get your hands on a lazer/infared thermometer to double check what the temp actually is.

If it's not steaming or boiling though, I'd say you're off to a good start...

that's what i am hoping for i let it idle for about 30 minutes and would raise the rpm's every once in a while.

That sounds pretty good to me, about what mine ran at going down the road on a hot Michigan (~90º) summer day. Most all newer cars run around 210-220º, helps burn off extra unburnt gas (not that there's a lot, but there's still some... I'm learning this currently with my emissions test debacle).
