I traded a modded 1999 Kawasaki ZX9R for my current Regal 8) The was the first street bike I had ever even ridden and it scared the crap out of me :!:

and any old car is almost always some type of project.

Ain't that the truth. When the gas prices initially shot into the $3+ range years ago, I bought a sh*t box '91 VW to use for a work car.

I've owned a few neglected GM cars in the past and in most cases you can limp them somewhere if something goes wrong. Not the case with that VW. It was neglected and it let me know. I worked on the damn thing more than I drove it. It had massive grounding problems, the wiring quality was terrible, several sensors failed, suspension issues, exhaust issues, shifter bushings were shot, etc, etc, etc! I HAD to buy the proper repair manual and regularly use a multi-meter to troubleshoot & fix the car.

All the time!
Everytime I end up with a "newer" car, I usually get rid of it as quick as I can and get another G to drive.

I stopped driving a '98 Jeep Wrangler (2 years old at the time) and got my '84 El Camino.
I later had a '91 Pontiac Grand Am for about 3 months before I sold it to buy my '79 Cutlass.
I had a '96 Cavalier and got rid of it after 2 months and bought the '81 El Camino.
I even sold my '89 pickup to buy my '81 Century wagon.

I did drive my '96 Caprice a lot for the first few years I had it.
Since then it's spent a lot of time sitting as I've driven various g-bodies. It's still in great shape and runs and drives great with only 133k on it, but I've kinda lost interest in it. I still love it though, and I'll keep it since it's not really worth selling...
Plus it's my only car with a/c...
