Well time to purchase some new exhaust. I like to take the family for rides in the cutlass but my baby girl is scared to death of it when it's running because it's pretty loud. She's scared of it but my son loves it. He calls it his race car even though it's far from it. It has dynomax bullets dumped right now but too loud for baby girl. I know I'm ordering pypes stainless steel kit that exit straight out the rear but I need a muffler choice that will keep my son and I happy but not scare the cap out of my daughter. Right now I'm looking at the 3 mufflers pypes offer with kit or hooker aero chambers. Any opinions on those 4 or any other besides flow 40s? I watched tons of exhaust videos but those don't show the true sound. Any help will be appreciated.

i know you said anything but the 40's, but they really are a good pick, or a cheap set of welded thrush sound close to the 40's... there is a video on youtube of 8 different kinds of flowmasters and the sound they make, and a decibel meter both inside and out of the car... my daughter hated the loudness of my mc, and wouldnt go near it, now she loves it, not sure what changed...

i run the pypes street pros on their 2.5 exhaust system. subtle at idle but nice at wot. at cruise their is no drone. im impressed honestly.

The reason I said no to 40's is because they came on the car when I got it kept the for a few years and I have them on my daily. Just trying to change it up a bit.

X-pipes w/hooker aero chamber dumping @ the rear axle. Tail pipes would help.
Open the zip file.

I like my Flowamsters but I think the biggest difference in sound will be from adding tailpipes over the axle, I myself prefer the tailpipes coming out behind the rear tire like a GN (even on a Monte) and even though the tailpipes are shorter than going out the back I think since they are aiming towards the ground instead of straight out they are actually quieter and I feel they give a cleaner look since you only see the tips and not two feet of tailpipe.
I have never ran the Aerochamber mufflers but I have looked at them in person and they are a beefy well designed muffler and I myself would consider running those.

i guess its all in what someone prefers... i love the look of the tailpipes on my mc. when i had first finished the engine, i wanted to drive it so bad, but i didnt finish my exhaust, i just tossed the pypes xpipe system in but flipped the two pipes that were suppose to go into the mufflers so that they exited out the side of the car infront of the rear tires with no mufflers, TALK ABOUT LOUD... pretty sure i pissed my neighbors off with that... i have seen mc's with the full tailpipes like mine and shorts that exit close to the rear tire, but i have always preferred mine, as long as they are kept clean, they look good...

For a good time, take off the exhaust manifolds and fire it up. Had to move my car across the street one night, mid-exhaust swap, city street-sweeping ordinance. I think they wrote a new noise ordinance the next morning. Man, the blue flames were cooooool. Didn't manage to set anything on fire.
