180 hp, 301 ft lbs at about 4,000 rpm. I know you're saying to yourself that makes no sense. But the car runs on a modified TBI system. The restrictiveness of the TBI is why the lower hp #'s and low RPM with the high Torque. Its like the 400's from the 70's with the 2bbl carb. All torque, limited

I noticed your combo that's why I asked, its a combo you don't see often so I was curious. It actually sounds about right, lol made a mini torque monster out of a 350. Probably makes for a fun car on the street, besides that most of the "700 hp" cars people have only make numbers like that. I've seen a lot of sad faces at the chassis dyno 😛

http://www.dynomax.com/mufflers.php As anyone used on of the VT mufflers yet, its a neat idea closes the valve at low pressure opens it for open exhaust style flow at full throttle. The problem I see is you can't adjust the spring tension, a stock style motor with less than 9.5-1 comp. wont produce anywhere near the exhaust pressure of a max pump gas 11-1 motor. So if you bolt that on a low power motor will the valve never open, and on a better motor it won't close??? Many other things influence exhaust pressure as well

I got super 40's on my sbc in my 80 cutlass. Nice deep rumble when idling an aggressive sound when getting on it. Have had them on there 4 years now and still sound good. Just my two cents.

I've put Flowmaster 40 series mufflers on every car I've ever owned. That's the top selling muffler in my hometown. I've had 'em with straight pipes, H-pipes, and X-pipes. I've only noticed the drone that people whine about on the cars that had turndowns.

i run super 40s on my elky,,never had a issue with the cops because of noise,,had this set for 5 yrs, still sound good,,and yes it does drone,,but i have a full 3 inch exhaust,,which is dumped at the rear axle,,i usually dont turn on the radio anyways,,as i would rather listen to the comp 280 roller,,,, 😀

73 Olds 350 with Flowtech ceramic full length headers and 2.25" dual exhaust going to Flowmaster Super 44s with offset in and center out.

Well I had flowmaster super 44's with 2 1/2" pipes (no catalytic converter) on my car for about two years... Got it done just before I got out of high school. It had a really deep and aggressive sound that I enjoyed. I mean it sounded great. But it was obnoxiously loud. Had to cut the car off when placing orders in drive through places. Riding down the interstate there was a loud interior drone.

So last month I got a set of Thrush Turbo mufflers put on. They sound way better to me, just not as deep. And when I ride down the road I can have a conversation in my car or listen to my radio comfortably. I am 100% happy with my turbo mufflers. I just never gave them a chance, because they were so "cheap." If I were to get flowmasters again, I would go with the 50 series delta flow. But it all depends on what YOU are looking for. If you like a deep throaty aggressive sound, then get some chambered mufflers like flows. They make it sound like you have more motor than you really do.

But at the end of the day, they are only welded in. Nothing you can't cut out and replace. 8)
