Ok. I am looking to put chrome exhuast tips on my '85 GP. I have dual exhaust out the back with a 2.5 outlet. They duals come out the back bumper not behind each wheel. I'm wanting to get some tips that are longer than 9" and put on them. Thing is all the tips I can find that are longer than 9" are weld-on. I really don't want to weld-on them on since it is a hell of alot easier to clean them by just taking them off and polishing them up and bolting or screwing back on.

Any suggestions?

Have you checked with some of the shops that do muffler/exhaust systems? A lot of them have catalogs and sometime they even have them in stock. If you get SS ones...they wont rust up like the cheaper chrome ones do and you wont have to worry about taking them off to clean them, just spray some WD40 on a rag and wipe em down and your done! I never had any luck with chrome tips....just my 2cents

Well I had my duals done by my local exhaust shop but didn't even check with them to see how their rates were with their tips since I had heard that getting tips at a shop like that can be rather pricey. Might want to check with them though.

Thought about getting something like these and just taking them somewhere to have them spot welded on since I don't have a way to weld them on and they are weld on tips.

These tips are 3" in and 4" outlet. My exhaust on my car are 2.5". Will that be a problem with these tips? Also, where could I get the chrome exhaust clamps to go over these 4" outlet tips?

I would get tips to fit your pipes...otherwise the welder will have to add a 3inch peice to your pipe before he can weld on the tip...might look a bit odd but maybe not.

So what size tips would I need? The 2.5" outlet tips wont slide onto my 2.5" pipes and I the next size up I can find is just 3" tips outlet.

Anyone?

Will a 2.5" tip fit over my 2.5" pipes or do I need to go bigger with the tip, like say a 2.75" or 3"?

Would the tip (link in above post) I posted above work?
