I once asked ( on another forum I believe ) if Olds ever made a drop base air cleaner that would work in a G-body with AC and the response was underwelming. Well today at the boneyard, I found a couple. The two I found were off some late 80's full sized cars with a SBC and TBI. These air cleaners look identical to the Olds 307 air cleaners with the exception of haveing a breather hole in a different location and it also has some sort of a sensor underneath. I didn't measure how much drop it has, but I think it should allow someone to run a 1" carb spacer with no issues or maybe allow the RPM intake to be ran with no issues. Would be nice for that stock factory look if that's what you're into ( which I'm a big fan of myself ).
Note there were two different types of air cleaners I found. One had provision for the plastic piece on the end of the snorkel for the air ducting just like the 307's air cleaners and the other was oldschool with just a 'flared' end ( so no provision for anything to hook up to it ).
