hello guys and gals

got a question i am running a after market fan on my ride was told they were junk to get it off my engine.was wondering what you guys are running. i dont have it set up for electric fans right now dont like the look of the stock clutch fan. looking for other alternatives that are out there .

Flex fans aren't horrible....just depends on what kind of power you are pushing. In all honesty, dual electric fans are the way to go! They don't take up much space depth wise, wiring isn't difficult if you get a complete wiring kit with relays, etc. and they will cool big motors. Look at 565bbchevy's setup....he is thumpin it out! I've ran dual electric fans for years and this pic kinda shows the room i have, motor is around 430hp at the crank and it stayed around 180 or less with them on. Hope this helps.

The heavy duty clutch fan wasn't that bad on my car, and wasn't pretty either...I went with the Mark v111 fan and cutlass top plate..

thats why i dont really want to run the stock fan. i have priced electric set up about 300.00. trying to get other things done first

For many years I've used a 7-blade 18.5" Hayden flexfan, and it kept my engine running relatively cool. I removed it and went with a stock 7-blade Monte SS fan with HD fan clutch. I was going to go with an electric setup, but decided to keep it old school. Again, no problems keeping it cool.

I have the Intrepid fan set up it works well and fits a 26" core radiator with very minor trimming plus you can get them new on Ebay for well under $100 for the fans, I wired my own with hi and low speeds on separate switches and relays.

how do they mount to your radiator?

I did not want mine mounted directly to the radiator so I made 4 brackets that go around the radiator and mount to the core support instead.

okay yeah most i have seen mount to the radiator
If you have a standard top plate you could probably mount to that and the bottom of the core support but my radiator is too tall for one so that is why I mounted it it to the sides it works well but the brackets are more complicated since each one is different and has a designated location.
