You all can go pull parts off it, I'll probably get mugged or shot next time I go back.

I may check this out in my travels, however:

FW Picknpull has an '80 El Camino.

FW's picknpull is about 100X safer that Dallas South, where you need to chain a pitbull to your bumper when you go in to pull parts. The Dallas South "Neighbors" think "why pay $2 to go inside, when there is a free yard of cars to pull parts from outside?"

The El Camino looks like a salvageable piece. It appears to have a good body...but from here you can't tell if it's missing the floor, interior, and has half a frame left. I'm guessing it's probably a solid car.
Fauxrari as in Fiero GT?

I couldn't have resisted the FauxRari, I would have bought it.

I know, but the people who sell cars to the Dallas Picknpulls are idiots who don't know how the internet works.

Put it on Craiglist with a picture for $1,500 and it sells in a day... Instead, they take the DART bus to the 2nd street picknpull and a the nice guy will pay $600 cash, tow it away and not ask a lot of questions... like did you take this in trade for a drug debt? or do you have a title?

The Fauxrari might actually be cool if you slapped a Northstar in it. I was in Garland for a training class last week, was driving around Dallas around the area you speak of when it occurred to me it might not be the best of ideas joyriding around there in a rental car with NY plates......

I would bet money the ElC is solid. Another car that should have sold on CL.

The Ferrari replica is a '85 V6 car. A rich Fiero guy might have paid $4K for that off Craigslist (surely there a few rich Fiero guys). It looks like the builder might have had $6-$10K in it, if not more. Sold for $600 max cash to a scrap yard that sells the fenders for $60 and the Hood for $50 and will crush the whole thing by August.

Dumb people.

It's best you avoid going south of the trinity river unless you know where you are going AND even then you keep an eye on your stuff at all times.

The Picknpull is getting better at selling stuff like this, if they can... Last week they had an '88 5.0L Mustang convert missing heads for $1,100. If it was a hardtop I would have thrown it in my trailer (only because I had a convert and don't want another). My guess is there are "title issues" with the ferrari **Cough** stolen **Cough**

It just goes to show you how misinformed people are. Some people would just rather not have to deal with buyers coming to their house, so they sell them to the U-Pull yard.
It's really a shame. They could potentially get triple of what the yard offers them.
The Fiero looks like it was a nicely done car. I wouldn't have minded tooling around in it.
...and the El Camino looks like a dry desert car, sun beaten and weathered, but all original.
It's just a shame how many of these special interest cars slip through the cracks.

$2 is high for junkyard admission. The U Pulls around me are free to $1 admission and out in the country. Though the free admission one is a muddy death trap with cars piled up on top of each other up to 3 high. Still neat cars but did not know parts of Dallas were that bad.

There are 4 picknpulls in Dallas/Ft Worth. $2 will get you into all 4 of them that day (or until the stamp wears off your arm). Paying $2 means its safer inside the junkyard than outside the junkyard, so its worth it. Muggers and tool thieves don't have $2.

South Dallas, near the 2nd street PnP is lawless.. My battery was stolen in broad daylight, 25 feet from the entrance, with a fake security camera pointing right at my car. They just had a 13 year old murdered after she was kidnapped by drug dealers because her sister's boyfriend ripped off the drug dealers. South Dallas will all be mowed down at some point and replaced with $1 million condos. The gentrification is already headed that way and is only about 4 miles north west and headed south east.. but the crime needs to stop. People who can afford $1 Million condos don't want their kids murdered by their neighbors. Commuting an extra 30 minutes/day might be worth it not to have your kids murdered.
