This can change for me from time to time, but I've been listening to Black Sabbath since I was 13yrs old. I found some records in my parents basement and was hooked ever since. I'm 34 now, and I still love them. But lately I've been into Dio as their lead vs Ozzy. Dio was just a better singer technically and I feel like their 1980 Heaven and Hell release took them to a new level, albeit a short lived one.

Anyway, so thats my favorite album right now, and Wishing Well has to be favorite song. Iommi's is a friggin master on it - enough said!

So whats everyone else's right now?

awesome thread

Right now I blew the dust off Die rugged man Die by R.a the rugged man
Almost any songs off that album work for me.
A star is born is probably the one song if i had to pick.

lol Sabbaths Heaven and hell is one of my favourite songs and is the song I try to remember the lyrics too when ever I get some gay song stuck in my head. Works every time too.
My favourites very from time to time as well.

well for the one that gets CRANKED--lamb of god's sacrament
but i'd have to go with metallica's master of puppets overall.

love Sabbath, but only with ozzy. the lyrics and the vocals really went with the dark music. i highly respect Dio but he just didn't sound right with them. you're lucky, my parents mostly listened to crap.

Honestly I think Iommi can make any singer sound good. Ozzy had his place and time but I'm glad they kicked him out... they flatlined there pretty hard in the late 70's. Dio while I can't stand watching him, was an awesome songwriter and a perfect fit Iommi's sound. I do think its funny that the rumor is that Dio got kicked out of the band cause he was caught sneaking in the studio at night and turning up his vocals.. lol.. He still is one of the best rock singer/songwriters out there. Heaven and Hell and Mob Rules

When I found my dad's 33's, I thought most of it had to be crap too. This was mostly stuff before the days of rock. Some of it isn't so crappy- I even bought the CD version of John Coltraine's "My Favorite Things." But when I was going to grade school, Bun E. Carlos of Cheap Trick was the coolest guy alive- Who else could smoke a cigarette, play the drums and toss the sticks up in perfect timing? If I have a son some day, I'll name him Bun- too cool of a name to be beat up on a daily basis.

Wow, there are so many! My all time favorite album is Pink Floyd's The Dark Side of the Moon, and my favorite track off of it is "Time". As for other albums, Bob Marley and the Wailers "Legend", The Smashing Pumpkins "Siamese Dream" and "Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness", with my favorite Pumpkins songs being "Mayonnaise", "1979", "Today" and "Perfect". Oh, also, Pearl Jam's "Ten" .My favorite driving album right now is Linkin Park's "Meteora". Some of my favorite songs that are not in these albums would include Bob Dylan's "Tangled Up in Blue", Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here", and Carlos Santana's "Europa". There are more, but I can't think of them right now.

80s

Van Halen- Self entitled album and 1984 classic diamond albums with diamond dave himself

The Cars- known as the group with the most classic singles but also without a #1 hit, I forget where i read it so I have no source to back it up

Def Leppard- Just good all around

Firehouse- one of the last great hair bands many of you have probably never even heard of them. They came out in 1989. Songs like love of a lifetime, dont treat me bad, and shake and tumble. They wont the best new hard rock performance in 1990 over bands like Nirvana and others. I hate new rock, new music in general

Some of the groups from the 90s are ok like bush, stp, and others but I think everything from music is deteriating these days. I guess im the grumpy type cause i basically hate everything that his new. 😢

not too surprising since nirvana's "smells like teen spirit" came out in '91. before that was garage stuff. w/out d. grohl.
not that it applies there but the best hard rock category is a crock of sh*t. remember when AC/DC and Metallica lost to jethro tull?
if you get sirius radio (you'll like buzzsaw and definately hair nation) check out octane. they play some really good bands that you won't hear on the raqdio.

yeah

we got crappy dish network and I get all those stations, I like almost all the stations. I was wrong too, it was 1991 that they got best new rock artist. Firehouse was a really good band man, and still are. I think and now this is my opinion that Nirvana was way over rated. I love alice in chains though.
