I was looking around on Jeg's web site and I stumbled accross this. Has anyone around here ever had any experience running one or know anyone that has and how it performed?.......
Just woundering if it really worth the $300+ Bucks.....

I've ran one. If you don't have to put a hole in your hood, Don't! Simple as that.
If you really want the look, go for it.

Jegs doesnt specify if there is any HP gain.....I would assume there would be some sort of gain do to the ram air setup. Is there a air filter inside the scoop or....

It's just for looks, you're not gaining any serious hp with it. And think about the rain...

Yes theres a filter in it. And no you wont get a gain. But here a good rule I go by. If you don't have dual carbs, don't use it. These things look so lame on a single carb engine (I know a few people that have run these, back in the 90s. And also, don't forget that an engine doesn't sit perfectly centered in the engine bay. So you will have this off center ugly scoop sticking out of the hood. Not to mention all the people making fun of your 'fake blower'.

i think they start to ram at about 200mph. useless.
i couldn't agree with phoenix more.

At best it won't hurt your HP, at worst it will reduce HP due to flow disruption at the carb air horn. Note that factory air cleaners and true hi-perf air cleaners have a smooth inlet surface with a radius that turns the air into the carb. This scoop has a flat bottom and no smooth turning radius. The turbulence inside the scoop will hurt inlet flow.
