So how do I fix this? I'd like to get it tighter like the driver's side, I've loosened bolts and tried to push the fender in further. Only seemed to move the edge of the fender closest to the door.

Looking in from the door opening the top bolt between the fender and body has no shims, the bottom bolt has one. There's about four shims on the bolt by the hood hinge, but that shouldn't affect in an out.

The gaps were like this with the factory hood too. It's not that I just installed the grand national good wrong....

Good luck! I could never get the door to fender gap to align. If I aligned on top then bottom gap grew, if I aligned at bottom the top gap grew. Then the door wouldn't clear the fender when opening. You can see my gap at the top and the door aligns at the bottom but not with the fender lines! Got it as close as I could and left it alone. It was that bad when I bought it brand new in 87! The body guy who painted it gave up on it, so have I! I've spent countless hrs on it.

Try moving your hood latch towards the passenger side, then being on the drivers side with the hood open, push on the hood where the hinge mounts to the hood . The hinges will give some movement.

You are at the worst part of removing a front clip - hood reinstall and alignment. This process never goes quick and then I notice any imperfection forever lol.

Good luck and be patient.

That 2nd to last pic looks too tight is it missing the little rubber pieces on that side. It should have around an 1/8th of an gap
I agree. Little rubber things are still there. Factory hood lined up the same way. That driver's side fender lines up so much better with the header panel and door though. Lol

The raised center of the hood lines up with the raised part of the header panel.

It's really like the top of the passenger side fender is shimmed out too far. Only there's no shims there.

I'll probably just give up. It seems like the easiest option.

Sounds like hammer time, and I ain't talking about that rappin' nitwit.

You can adjust the fender fount an 1/8" or so with some gentle tapping, but the fender has to come off to do it.
