I was just wondering where the little wire (12 gauge) that runs along with the positive battery cable goes on the starter.

I'm also having trouble with my power steering pulley. I rented the puller from autozone, and it came off fine, but I cant seem to figure out what tools are needed to get it back on. I tried all the different tools in thaty box, but cant seem to find how to get it back on. Is there threads inside the shaft on the resivoir? Does the pulley need to be heated up before installation??

Any help is appreciated!

The little wire should go to the "S" terminal on the starter iirc. As far as the pulley, its been awhile since Ive done one, so I dont recall how the puller/installer works, if you had a pic, I could tell you though.

If that small wire is attached to the positive terminal then don't hook it to the s terminal, it'll start cranking. If its only hot when you have the key in the crank position then ya it should go to the s terminal.
As far as the power sterring pulley, the shaft should be threaded. Most new pumps only come with a long bolt, nut and washer to press the pulley back on. So look in the kit and find something that will bolt into the shaft and will have a bearing or nut with a big washer that is used to apply pressure to the pulley.

Alright, The "s" terminal would be the smaller of the two I'm guessing?

I did find one, but the threads didn't go in. They might have started, but then the shaft spins when you try to tighten it more. I don't know how to stop the shaft from turning while tightening the bolt (without damaging the shaft)

I just used the pulley install/remove kit from auto zone. The threads in my pump were so filled with crud and rust, I had to run a tap through the threads to get the threaded part of the tool to go in. I am not sure if I had much of a problem with the shaft turning, so I can't help with that.

Awesome tip dan2286! Worked awesome.

Glad it worked for you. I didn't do that the first time I tried and it didn't get threaded in enough. I tried pushing the pulley back on and it ended up ripping a few threads off. I ended up having to cut those threads off to make it look normal again. I am glad the guy at auto zone never looked at it
