I was tossed between a track car and a low rider. Every minute I kept changing my mind. I started looking around on Cardomain and I got some very good ideas and now will be building a low rider.

So it will be a slow process for me as I am disabled but hopefully in a year, I will have it done. I plan on going with a full Orange and Black tweed interior. Where the side windows are, I will either eliminate them or make something custom out of plexiglas. Exterior was going to be all black but have now decided on Orange with a black stripe along the side. Later on down the road, I will get some spoke rims and air bags but for now I will just sand down and paint the rims I have. If I do all the interior work myself, I can do it for less than $300 hopefully, I just need to learn how to sew. Tweed is $15 a yard for Orange and $12 yard for black.

My friend can weld the side windows to eliminate them, I already have someone to paint the car for under $400 if I have the bodywork done, take the trim off and tape it up. I will have my cousin airbrush it if I decide on something for a case of Corona.

So while I have a lot of plans most are fairly inexpensive or free. Hopefully next month I will get some fiberglass and tweed and start cracking. I will start posting pics of my progress when that happens.

If anyone has any ideas, that would be great!!!

Yes, I am about 90% sure I am going to do it. It will also make it easier when I make custom side panels for the interior, less angles to cut and cover in material.

Just a heads up, it's a big blind spot not having those side windows. Good luck on sewing up your own interior, it takes A LOT of patience. Mine's been orange for about 5 years now, next winter i think it'll be time to change it up again. Check out Layitlow.com for tons of info on everything about building a low

I am used to blind spots and I always tend to look over my shoulder before I switch lanes and stuff. always watching out for motorcycles in the summer.

I have plenty of patience now, never used to,lol......The only thing I will have a problem with is the seats,,,I have seen it done, I know what I need to do but we will see. I will practice with some felt first, think it's like $1.00 a yard so if I mess up I know not to attempt it with tweed at $14.00 a yard.

Lastly that website kicks *ss and I can't get enough of it. I am there all the time looking for ideas.

I tend to think of something simple and 4 days later I add like 5 other things to it. Before it was just orange paint. Now it's Orange, black and lime green.

Tomorrow I will have another color added or this color http://i14.tinypic.com/454y73m.jpg

OK my medication is causing me to ramble on I am out.

LoL, yeah that site is addictive as is lowriding. My car started as a winter beater but soon that idea was out the door and now i'm going for more of a clean street/show car. I attempted some g-body seats and after 20 spent on the rear seats, i wasn't completely happy with how they turned out. Plus i have pillow tops in the front so that just wasn't happening for me. What i did was borrow a sewing machine(regular $200 machine) and bought leather needles to sew the vinyl.
