Thank for the compliment. I have a lot of experience with informative/history writing and forums. I also run a Firebird site of my own and am a Co-Admin. on another.

Hello Clean 84 85: I had little interest in the car as a whole because of the damage in the body and the difficulty to ship the car. I parted it out in Jan 2014 and have sold some parts already. My car has an excellent set of seats and console plus other items. It would be nice to get an update about the 78 Grand AM and how it is coming along. They are nice cars. I put about 200,000 miles on mine and really enjoyed the 6 way driver seat. It was a nice handling and comfortable car to dive. Hope this 78 gets going again. Hello brother Al. Trent in Los Angeles, Calif.

Hello everyone, been a while since I've posted here, that wasn't by design but by life circumstances that took my attention away from cars and towards family. Things have been hectic and challenging, but are finally settling down, at least to some extent.
A sad result of the events of the past year is that I have to part with the '78 Grand Am in the above pics.
I truly hate to part with it, but after long consideration, I think it's the best option for me and I'd really prefer to see it go to someone who appreciates these cars and can get it back on the road like I wanted to.
If anybody is interested, let me know and feel free to ask questions too.
The car is pretty well loaded out with power windows and locks, A/C, tilt, cruise, power buckets, etc, but for some reason doesn't have rear defrost. Not a big deal, but odd that such an inexpensive item be left off.
The car is very, very solid with nice floors throughout and a solid frame. The body is rust free and the doors and trunk close nice and solid like they should but it does have a few dings and small dents, but nothing severe at all.
The drivetrain is the stock 301 and after sitting untouched for so long, now cranks and runs momentarily with gas poured down the carb but won't stay running. Most likely needing fresh fuel and/or fuel system flush but my situation prevents me from doing much about it right now.
A clean title goes with it, and the car is in Houston, should anyone want to do an in person inspection.
From what I've seen, the car is worth every penny of the $1300 I want to get for it. I know I'll regret parting with it, but I have no choice right now and if someone who appreciates these cars gets it, I'll at least feel a little better about it going to a good home.

Man, I am so sorry to hear that. It's tough having to give up a project you love...

And, dang, if I hadn't bought that 78 LeSabre a few months ago, I'd be asking where you're located! While I've never owned one, I always liked the front treatment and altered styling cues of the Grand Am vs the LeMans (both the Colonnade and the downsized A-body).

You might want to post this in For Sale (ok, maybe not WANT to, but you know what I mean)....

Yeah, didn't think of the for sale link, or maybe my mind wouldn't let me. I'll post there too. May as well offer it to those who will give it a good home. Thanks for the tip.
