So last year my best run was 12.47 @ 109 mph and I am aiming for 11.90's so I decided to make some changes...I switched out the summit turbo mufflers to the Dynamax Ultra Flows, went to the Mark Viii fan and switched out to a manual steering box...my first pass I hit a 12.57 @ 108 mph and the car was breaking up, I was thinking :wtf: SO we messed with the timing and pressure in the Nitto Drag Radials and on my second to last run of the night I ran a 12.56 and spun off the line and the car broke up again ....turns out the connection from the MSD box to the dizzy was bad, figured that out and on the final pass I ran a 12.20 @ 110 mph, and I still spun a bit off the line...my 60 ' was 1.72, I'm thinking time for some E.T. Streets or quick time-pro tires for traction and I should be almost there 🙂

Just imagine if you lost your car on Pinks because of that loose wire

Which is why I would never enter that one, that's for sure......Heck my Wifey told me if the car ever goes, I gotta go with it 8)

you should have no problems getting into the 11's with you combo.. But it takes time and tweaking.. heck my old 355 was stuck at 12.50 then boom with just a little messing went 12.00 steady.. Hang in there you will get it .. deff get some sticky tires...They make a world of a difference.. Just a little FYI my car with the 383 I had went 1.73 60' and went 11"s so your getting there.

Hopeing for 10's this week with combo in signature..

Don't get quick times. My dad and I used to run them on our 11 second chevelle and you had to burn the hell out of them to heat up and they still spun off the line. Look into Hoosier slicks. We had the best traction with those. Went from 11.80s to 11.30s with them. Your running a good 60 ft and you could see it's slipping off at the top end. Can you post a pic of a time slip? Is it wanting more fuel at the top end? Have you ran a pass then as soon as you pass the finsh line shut it off and pull a plug when you get stopped to check the if it's rich or lean? You said it's breaking up I know the MSD probably had a lot to do with it but if you have a jet kit I would go out to a test and tune night and step up a size or two and see what happens.

Well there's your problem right there.... ANYTHING hooked to something called a "DIZZY" is bound to be messed up.....LOL

What pressures were you running the Nitto's at? I was running 11.8's with them before I got rid of them and I think I was running like 20-22psi in them

I think that was part of the problem...I started at 15 psi and went down to 10 psi on six runs...I ended up back to 15 psi and had the msd issue worked out...iirc though last year I was running 18-20 psi.....I gotta check into that...I think the lower pressure on the Nitto's hurt and not helped 🙁
