Well, this turned out to be harder than I thought! Looking for a molded carpet for my 81 wagon, but, I haven't found a carpet for a wagon.

Will a carpet for a 4 door fit the passenger area in my Malibu wagon?

And does anyone have a good or bad experience with any particular brand? I don't want to have go through this again in a couple years!

I am pretty sure that the 4dr carpet will fit just fine just not cover the cargo area which mine does not have carpet back there anyways

Thanks, I appreciate the response. I may just buy an extra couple yards and then cut it to fit the rear and the door panels.

Is there any way to figure out what the official GM color is for these things? My interior looks gold, but I don't see anything similar on these carpet seller sites.

I've heard that who ever you buy a carpet kit from will generally sell you matching yardage to do the cargo area. If you're handy with a sewing machine, you can sew up the proper binding to keep the carpet from fraying.

In fact I have a tan rear cargo carpet that came out of a Buick Century wagon. It's a bit stained, but I acquired it at the time to be used as a pattern or template when it came time to do my carpet.

Thanks, that may be the same color as mine,It's definitely pretty close. I'll have the wife look at it tonight. Women see colors better than men.

wow, I wish my interior looked that good! Nice wagon. All of my vinyl is sun rotted; I'll be trying to go after that after the carpet is in.

Jack, that's a good idea. Mine has a piece back there, too. It's dirty and greasy and the wrong color, but it fits great. I was going to just toss it, but it should be fine as a template.

AZ,
As far as your sun beaten interior plastics are concerned. You can use the A & B pillar plastics and door panels from a 4-dr A/ G body car. Of course the cargo area and tailgate inner panel is wagon specific.
Fortunately I accumulated some pieces over the years.
What shape is your car in overall?
As for the rear carpet. Many wagons I've seen, including my own didn't have the carpet back there.

thanks and yea I got lucky mine was ordered from the factory with tinted windows and it was garaged its whole life I bought it from the original owners grand daughter of ebay and had it shipped here to south texas from Phoenix, when I got it, it was 100% original even still had the factory am radio in the dash and the only thing I have redone interior wise is the headliner and when I pulled it down it had the factory build sheet taped to it 😀
