It's been a while since I have posted anything here. So I have finished the front rotors and the ABS problem I have been having on my truck. Turns out the rotors are a "captured" setup. In short, the steering knuckle needed to be removed. Once that was off, then I put the assembly on my bench, unbolted stuff, a few whacks with a hammer at the right places, and wait for weeks to get the ABS sensors. Noticed the cause of my "ABS FAULT". Turned out to be a corroded and dirty hub magnetic ring on the hubs along with a crack in the ABS sensor head. Needed to buy:

Hub/Wheel bearing assemblies (about $300 a pair from Rockauto.com),
ABS sensors (about $130 from 2 different dealers 30 and 100 miles away from home, respectively...which seem to be a shortage of),
Rotors ($100 a pair from Autozone)
Brake Pads (Autozone)

In the process, I could not get a puller on the upper ball joints, so I used a pickel fork thinking I could get new ball joint boots (ooops). Another $70 at Rockauto.

I plan to do a write-up over at coloradofans.com. The wife is happy to have here garage bay back.

I cant understand why GM cant get the ABS sensors right. The two GM cars that I have had, always had problems with the ABS. My dad has a 2008 Silverado with 13,000 miles on it and it is already having problems with the ABS.
