There is a circuit breaker on the firewall of my 1980 Caballero. It is between the break booster and the distributor and just below the windshield wiper arm assembly.

Does anyone know what amp circuit breaker this is? Is this factory to the 1980 cars? A heavier wire feeds one side and two smaller wires come out of the other side and then jump back into the wiring harness.

I was going to get a 30A circuit breaker to replace it but I want to make sure that's not too big.

Thanks,

Keith

I don't think that's factory. but I could be wrong.

You're right... the previous owner installed a trailer break switch and they used this circuit breaker for the wiring harness. Problem was they installed it too high on the fire wall and it interfered with the windshield wipers.

Replaced it with a 30 amp and moved it down two inches.

Thank you,

Keith

My old GP had them too, but I think (don't know for sure) it was an option on that car. That was and still is the most optioned gbody I've ever seen.

x2, if it's not going to be used (I'd never two anything with a G-Body besides a motorcycle trailer or something similar) give it the ol' heave-ho, cleanup of unnecessary things helps appearances quite a bit 😀
