Ok, so I just read on Yahoo News how the fireworks at the opening ceremonies of the Olympic Games in China were computer generated. So actually what the people saw on the tube was nothing like what it was in real life. On top of that people are actually justifying it. "Well it was dangerous .. crowded .. expensive ... " blah blah blah.

So wait, let me get this correct. You are watching a REAL LIFE event and you don't care if what your seeing is "doctor'd-up" or not? WOW. Yeah from now on I say every sporting event should have one version where one team wins, and then another versions where the losers actually win so everyone at home in front of the boob-tube is all warm and fuzzy. I mean is it just me or does it seem kind of scary to do something like that?

Do you realize the implications "they" are trying to get us aquired to? Yes ... keep thinking ... yes ... FALSE MEDIA. That right! 100% contrived media to keep the vast population of the world in the "sheep" mode as long as possible. Computer generate fake fireworks at the Olympic game now ... computer generated fake wars and elections in the next 10 years.

And another thing. Why are we even supporting China (financially or otherwise)? Do they stand for anything that America (read our Constitution and founding fathers) stand for? NO! They are a communist country, they have taken all our jobs and industry (albeit that was really our own fault), they send us back crappy and dangerous goods which we then purchase thus financing THEM and not our own country, and overall China is a very controlling and brutal society (no matter how peaceful TLC, Discovery, and The Travel Channel try to spin it). I mean come on and wake up! I can't believe the world, and the vast American population, can sit by and stand for that. If China put an embargo on the U.S. right now, guess who'd be screwed? NOT THEM!

And finally ... are we at the brink of WW3? I mean Russia just blew the crap out of Georgia (the country not the state people) and now the Georgian government is wanting our help  which is seems like we are already starting to gear up for. Who's gonna' side with Russia I wonder??? Hmmmm ... maybe CHINA! WOW ...

Ok. Just wanted to get that off my chest and see if any of you feel the same as me or if I'm alone on this.

Americans want a lot of stuff and they want it cheap. It's just that simple.

But, do you think I'm being unreasonable? Am I being paranoid?

I honestly feel that Americas (and other industrialized countries) have been sold a lie. And that lie is: "You are not happy unless you have _____ (fill in the blank)". Sure the basics for shelter, food, safety, and health are needed. But you have to admit, a lot of people in 1st world countries have a lot of un-needed crap in our lives. American's are probably highest on that list.

Happiness and peace are inner emotions. That comes from internal not external sources.

I don't know. It just seems that the level of "bad" in the world is escalating at an exponential rate.

actually we already have been helping out the Georgians, we've had advisors there for awhile. but i think it'll be a UN thing soon.
china and russia have hated each other for centuries so i wouldn't worry too much, besides if they went to war against us trade would stop, and you already know what that would do.
the worst thing with china is that they continuously steal from us, and we allow it! but you can't insult the chinese, you might be racist

The American economy is based on consumerism. You don't get economic growth by telling people that they should enjoy spending time with their family at home or taking pleasant walks on the beach to watch the sun set. You get it by telling people that their lives are incomplete and they need more stuff to make it better. Or better yet, that they are unattractive and will never find love without the following fashions, fitness accessories, and status symbols.

You may have noticed the recent fears of economic recession. A large part of this is because too many people took out 'home equity' loans for consumer spending and when the housing bubble started contracting, they were on the hook for more debt than they had assets.

It's a materialistic debt-based society. And China provides a LOT of material goods at low prices.

but you don't get economic growth from sending your work overseas either.

TV in itself is a lie, and doesn't represent reality whatsoever. There are a total of 6 corporations that control all media - so don't expect any truth to come from from it, at all. But still, people buy into it like mindless idiots.

Watch the movie 'Network' sometime. Great movie.

We can't blame China, blame our greedy corporations and Americans who don't support our own labor force. We deserve what we tolerate.

And no matter what the Necon Fox or the NeoLib CNN report - The US and Israel have provocateured and now are fighting a proxy war with Russia.

Georgia tried to gain control of their breakaway province and Russia is fighting back with force.

NeoCons are calling for an all out War with Russia. Its insane. This will be the death of us.

I guess now the 'war on terror' farce has dried up, they're trying to stir up a new cold war.

And to take it from the micro to the macro...

China has been buying up U.S. debt for a while. They hold hundreds of billions of dollars in U.S. debt. Some have said that China doesn't need ot use their military to try and hurt us, all they have to do is call in their debts and they'd have us over a barrel. The flip side, though, is that if China did that, their debt holdings would rapidly drop in value and they'd be in economic trouble.

Everyone owes everyone else something, the world is full of trillion-dollar debtors and creditors and it makes things ridiculously complicated.

well which is it? is Georgia trying to keep it's land and it's property or is it all a conspiracy? georgia didn't attack russia, at the beginning, they attacked those who could be considered traitors WHO WERE IN GEORGIA!!!. then russia attacked georgia, then georgia attacked russia. georgia has NOT invaded another country, only the russians have.

this is your funniest one yet--TV and the media are a lie (we're good so far)--so watch this movie... what??movie=media=propaganda=see previous statements.
we can't blame china for our companies going overseas, but we can blame them for stealing from us.
