How? It's under my kitchen sink and goes outside for the garden hose. I was gonna get a whole new bib thingy and cut it as necessary, solder a nipple fitting to it and jam it into the plastic tubing.

Yay?
Nay?

Did it freeze somehow? I am by no means a plumber but that is only thing I can think of that would cause a split/bust. 🤷‍♂️

Yes it did. Shitty house is very poorly insulated and when it gets to negative 20 for a week washer lines and hose line freezes.

I have two of those on my house. One on the north side, one on the south. Since we get pretty cold winters I have ball valves inside the basement to shut the water off to both of them. One winter I left the north side one open. We had a nice day and my son decided to wash his car. He left the hose hooked up. Long story short, that valve froze and split about 8" inside the basement. Had to replace it when the temps warmed up. Lesson learned.
