Does anyone know if magnaflows are quiter than flowmasters.
Looking for just a low deep growl rather than a loud sound

since i was broke and lazy, when i put my new headers on i used a flex pipe and that killed the droning for me

my flowys are pretty tolerable and I am running headers to straight pipe to mufflers , no x or H and no cats and I really have to problems with them, only have carpet as well no fancy sound deadening stuff

has anyone tried the new flowmaster hushpower muffler? I'm looking for a single 3" muffler and I don't want that drone sound in the cab.

The droning noise is most common with flowmasters 2 and three chamber mufflers. (I had an 88 GT mustang and switching from a 2 chamber to a single chamber muffler fixed my problem) I almost always use flowmaster, but have used magnaflow a time or two with good results. The system I am working on now for my 85 Trans am uses a 4" mufflex and sounds truly great!

My elco would draw some attention when idleing across a parking lot now it just sounds I don't know maybe 50% of what it was like before -- it's that dramatic

I was thinking about getting the h-pipe on my car, but more for the mid-range torque. Did it make much of a difference besides the quieter sound?
