Flynbye Front C5 conversion bracket question

The ZQ8 spindles make it A BIT easier in IMO to adapt C5/early base model C6 calipers and rotors with just a adapter bracket, instead of cutting and modifiying the original spindle. I went with the ZQ8 spindles cuz i didn't want to deal with machining down the rotor and modifiying the spindle....besides the bracket still has to be bought. The issue is trying to find the spindles with good hubs.I had a hard time finding them seeing as 2wd Blazer/Jimmy aren't as popular around here....

I found a set in the yard today (98+ blazer) spindles I didnt pull them because someone got the hubs already and want to check another yard for a complete set before i buy just the spindle, if there isnt another set, imma pull them so I can move forward

went to another yard and pulled these today...

this is what you want bro... then you just need to get longer wheel studs (i think), make or by the bracket to adapt the ls1 or corvette caliper to it and the actual calipers and rotor set you are going to use...

gotcha a set now bro 😀 ,seems that those are more prevelant out west.... I also cut the abs sensor and i have heard of people using it as a VSS input for the LS1 engine swap with the factory fuel injection.. i am leaving the sensors in for know till i figure out the way to use it.

you'll need a large hammer
penetrating oil
18 mm socket and large 18 mm wrench, sometimes the nuts need encouragement
crescent wrench/vise grips (in case nuts are jacked up)
pliers

take the two bolts off the caliper brackets and pull the whole caliper and bracket off as one unit

smack on the face of the rotor on the edges, to loosen the rotor up and pull off

find the three nuts you will need to take off to get the spindle and hub off together

pull the pins out of them

take the nuts off, smack on the side of the spindle mounting holes, where the nuts came off and encourage the ball joints to come off... and you are done...

Sounds Simple enough, thanks bro.....Now I just need to get my lazy @$$ to the boneyard....I hate working in the cold, I guess I can't really complain when half the guys on here are dealing with snow this time of year 😀

I also want to bolt on C5 calipers with 13" C5 rotors on front. these pics/spindles are mine

I also got C5 rear calipers laying and looking to get a rear conversion kit with functional e-brake.

I'm still searching for them C5 conversion brackets. Already sent a few PM/emails to Ed Miller but I got no answer.

Anybody know who else sells them brackets?

Good call. Find someone else. I used Touring Classics out of texas somewhere for my C4 swap. Guy called me back for technical help on e-brake cables WHILE he was on Hot Rod Power Tour. I made the mistake of using Ed miller for my rear brake brackets to convert my 9' ford to LT1 style rear brakes. Took him 2 months never returned e-mails and phone calls. Then claimed he was on vacation. Vacation for 2 months? whatever, I will never use him again. Oh yeah, When I got the brackets I had to re-work them anyway because the caliper was way too far off of the rotor.
