For You Gun Owners

There is a 4 year old girl in local school. She draws a picture of her dad holding a gun. The teachers asks the child about the gun and she says that her daddy kills monsters and bad guys with it. Based on that the teacher calls the police who show up at the school and arrest the father who arrived to pick up his daughter. The father is stripped search, children's services comes in to take the 3 children away, one is 15 months, from the mother who is pregnant. The police search the home and find a toy gun. The police and the school board said they did not over react..

I don't understand peoples hatred for firearms. Why people flip out when someone talks about guns. I carry a gun legally, my biggest fear is that some psycho over reacting person will catch a glimpse of it somehow and next thing I know I am in a body bag at the grocery store or getting my face slammed into the floor by a half dozen over reacting cops. What happened to that man is complete horseshit. Were not that far off from those reactions here. Freaking horseshit.

chris, one thing they don't mention in the article is the the father is actually a speaker for the same school board. He goes to classes to talk about being in trouble with the law to educate and discourage the kids from doing wrong. The school board has suspended those talks...

I don't know if he told her that, kids tend to have some great imaginations and they make up some wild stories. She was only 4 years old.
