The front clip from a Cutlass will fit a Regal, no problem. The doors are the same, so it should be fine. However, it will look awful because the wheel arches are different shapes and styles, which will give it away. The 88 Cutlass header panel and headlights are a valuable find though. I looked for one I could afford for years with no luck.

I was trying to find a way to fix that problem with the fenders, do it an easy way,,,,,still thinking,lol.. I am thinking of cutting the top front of both fenders and swapping them. If I am correct, the only difference is the Regal fender has that angle and the cutlass fender is straight where the header panel mounts, right???

Could I use my hood with the cutlass front clip?

The doors are a goldmine for me, I hate power windows.....The seats, steering wheel and floor shifter are as well.

can't think straight now,3 hours of sleep, in A LOT of pain, medication is not helping..........Neruopathy fu**ing sucks.

The hood is unique to the model, so you can't use the hood from a Regal on a Cutlass. If you want to do some sheet metal work, why not think about swapping the wheel arches from the Regal to the Cutlass fenders? The Regal seems to have better tire clearance due to the shape of the arch.

I hear ya on the can't sleep thing. Some nights my insomnia is so bad I don't fall asleep until 8am. It's a bit better now since I have my car to wear me down during the day (and most nights until about 3 or 4 am), but when you can't do anything but think it's horrible.

Ah ok, If I do the swap I will probably get a fiberglass hood.

Insomnia does suck, been there before.

My foot swelled right up so I had to have my doctor paged. He called me 10 minutes later and told me to take 600mg of Motrin and my 300mg of neurontin. I will be happy if I get at least 5 hours of sleep tonight. I am at an 8 out of 10 on the pain still and will see him in the morning. If this doesn't help I will need Oxycontin as much as I hate to. I am going to tell him again if the pain does not go away, I want the leg cut off.

That really sucks! There isn't something they can do surgically to deaden the nerve endings? I would try the Oxy first to see if something can be done with it so that it doesn't make you a zombie. Amputation is a very permanent option.

Nope, peripheral neuropathy from what I have seen is incurable. Only pain meds can help it or amputation. I will try the Oxy first if they give it to me, my foot is swelled up again right now. I can hardly move my toes and just the slightest touch with a finger or anything brings my pain level over a 10.

I would rather have a tooth pulled with nothing than to deal with this. I know the amputation is permanent and I can live with that. I prepared myself for that last year after my surgery if the cancer came back. Besides, what they can do with prosthetic legs these days is a miracle.

The only thing that I would have to worry about is phantom pain. I have seen how to deal with that when US soldiers had limbs blown off or removed. Phantom pain is when no limb is there but you still feel pain as if it was there. They would put a mirror on the side of their leg covering where the other leg used to be. They would look in the mirror and it would seem as they had 2 legs. After a while the pain goes away. Most is psychological.

Ill be back tomorrow at some point with an update.

oh yeah while I'm at it, would the body of an 82 regal fit directly on the frame of the 87 cutlass?

If I plan on doing hydraulics and I get the cutty I want to box the frame and fix it up nice then when I am done I can swap the main body over to it. This way I can still drive the regal and work on the frame at the same time.

The frames should interchange with no problems. The only difference is the 87 will have a longer transmission mounting flange than the 82 because the TH 200 4R was optional in later years. Everything is a bolt in though.

I will keep you in my prayers about the pain. I hate to see someone lose a limb over it, but I can understand why you would want to do it. Let us know what the doctor says.

Cool hopefully that frame is not rotted.

Thanks for the prayers man. hopefully it was a misdiagnosis and they can fix it. I'll be around Friday night.
