I have a question. I have a 85 monte that the body is junk but the frame is solid. My wife is wanting a el camino I am building a engine and trans for her. is the frames diffrent or will mine work? I've heard there is differences in the front and rear. Thank you David

I believe the El Camino and the wagon frames are the same and the 2&4 models are the same

El Camino are different, it was true up to mid 70's El Camino and wagons used the same frame. From 78 to 87 the differences between wagon, 2 door and 4 door is the front and rear frame horns. Ive put a 80 Malibu wagon frame under a 85 2 door Regal.

Elco has a wheel base of 116". Every thing else is 108". Nothing that that a welder can't fix.
