my buddies el camino needs a new frame as his is rotted in odd spots,but what he is wondering is what frames will fit it,he plans on pulling the body off soon,and would like to have a frame to put under it when he does, any help would be great

If the frame is just rotted in the rear rails, maybe it would be less work and money to just put in new rails? If that is the case, there is someone in Ontario who sells new frame rails and does installation. http://www3.sympatico.ca/conradlozier/
Wagon frames will not fit, they are the same wheelbase as the coupes and sedans.
El Camino's are in a class of their own, so only a frame from another El Camino will work.
There is also seller on eBay that has clean rear frame horns up all the time for like $150...

ill pass that on to him thanks, the rear frame almost looks the same as a g body 1,and same length
The frame for an El Camino is essentially the same as every other g-body, with the exception that the wheelbase is 9 inches longer.
The rear rails on the El Camino are also different, as they have a slight recess on the driver side to accomodate for the side fuel filler neck.
Wagon's also have this slight recess for the fuel filler.
The wheelbase for ALL coupes, sedans, and wagons is 108.1 inches.
The wheelbase for El Camino's and Caballero's is 117 inches.
