I am installing 1 inch drop front springs on my Cutlass. The spring that came out has the ends that are both rounded. The new spring has one end that is flat, I am guessing that the flat end goes to the top?

Thank You for the replies. Let me ask this, I installed 1inch lowering springs. Is it a must to install shocks made for lowering? I was wondering because now the top shock mounting nut is tight, but the shock itself is still loose. In other words I ran out of threads on the stud.Should I install some sort of spacer?

U should not run out of threads. Double check everuthing. From the bottom side of the frame is steel washer, rubber bumper, frame, rubber bumper, steel washer, nut.

The shocks for lowered vehicles are for compressed length issues that I've never run into. I'm lowered over 2" in front with springs and run a stock replacement Bilstein shock with no probs. Lowering shocks are more for bragging rights of having them than what they actually do.

It almost sounds like u forgot the steel washer that holds the shoch from going through the frame. Without the steel washers it will push up through the frame and run out of threads. The rubber isolators won't prevent that. Make sure u got all the pieces in there. If u still have the same prob, then make sure there are about the same number of threads in the same location as your old shock.

Like a moron, I did forget to put the steel washer on, I guess that is what happens when you try to hurry and do things. Thank you for all the help.
