That's a taller tire. Depends on how low you want to go. I run 275/35/18... I don't know of anyone that has run that size on the front. You might be on your own to try it and see what you have to do based off what others, like myself, have done or run into.

I would like to run...275/40/18 up front using Nitto NT555 G2

I would agree 100% w/this statement. A 275/40-18 is 26,7" tall. Very tall for a g-body front. A 255/40 yields a 26" front & would work well on a 9" wheel but that's prob the max height you'd want. Streetbu's 275/35's are about 25.6" tall.

I had C5 wagon wheels on my 2+2 for a period of time (they were really cheap). 17X8.5 fronts with 275/40/17's and equivalent 5" BS. They were too wide in my opinion as they rubbed at full lock and were flush to the fender. They might have been OK if I had a z28/ws6 steering box with stops. The car road hunted with those wide tires also.

I changed to 17x8 fronts with 245/45/17 with one of the only non-directional summer tires I could find (cooper RS3s) and am happier. They don't rub, there is plenty of traction still for autocross or spirited driving and it doesn't road hunt near as bad.
