.. I HAVE A CUTLASS WITH A 350 SMB EDELBROCK CARB WITH MANUAL CHOCKE..
SO HERE IS MY PROBLEM.. CAR STARTS REAL NICE IN THE MORNING WHEN THE ENGINE IS COOL AT THE TURN OF KEY.. BUT ONCE I RUN THE CAR FOR A WHILE AND TURN IT OFF I COULD SEE THE FUEL BUBBLING ON THE CLEAR FILTER I HAVE.. SO IF I TRY TO START THE CAR IT WILL JUST CRANK FOR A WHILE UNTILL IT STARTS, ONCE IT STARTS I THROWS SMOKE AND MY IDLE IS OUT OF WACK.. SO I HAVE TO STEP ON THE GAS FOR A WHILE UNTILL MY IDLE GOES BACK TO NORMAL..SO MY QUESTION IS WHAT CAN BE DONE TO PREVENT FUEL BOIL??? I KNW ITS A COMMON THING WITH G BODY CARS..IF ANY OF U HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS PROBLEM AND SOLVED IT I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE UR ADVICE ON HOW TO GET RID OF THE PROBLEM CUZ IT SUCKS HAVING THAT PROBLEM..

Try to keep the fuel line which goes from the pump to the carb from touching the motor and lower rad hose if you can. I used metal clips with a rubber isolators to get my fuel line rigid and secure while keeping a small gap away from the block. Unless you have the fule line really close to the exhaust it should not boil over. A non-metal carb spacer and/or heat sheild will help too.
If all else fails you need some thermal wrap

He's hard of hearing!

I split some larger fuel hose and put over mine in my '84 MCSS, worked like a charm, never really had the problem with my Grand Am, El Camino SS or 442.
