i just bought a mr gasket 105 gph pump with the regulator. i put it on the passengers side of the frame rail at the rear where it starts to kick up over the axle on my el camino. and the regulator is mounted off the head of my bbc. now when i turn the pump on the pressure jumps around from 6-9 lbs of pressure and the pump makes alot of noise. and its a liquid filled guage. i also have a fuel filter before the pump.

thanks

I dont have any real advice but I have heard nothing but horror stories about Mr Gasket fuel pumps, just thought id let you know.

yea ive heard bad things bout the small pumps but supposedly holley makes these 105 gph pumps. and the regulator it came with has holley stamped on it but the pump just has a different sticker lol

Well if holley makes it as you say it making noise is a good thing its when it stops making noise you have a problem either you ran out of gas or pump took a sh*t. Having the regulator bolted to heads fuel could be atomizing into a vapor due to being heated up from motor. Or its possible you have a leak in setup and its sucking air. I run the holley blue with the regulator and i have a 2-3psi fluxuation when ideal but is steady when on the gas. It is possible gauge is jumping around from vibration of the motor itself.

Is the liquid filled gauge mounted in the engine bay? They have a reputation for being inaccurate after getting warm.

i dont think fuel was atomizing the car was running long enuff to get the braket hot ( i touched it) idk if it jumps around or not when im on the gas ill check and see. and i dont think i have any air leaks but how is a good way to check anyways?
