The only drawback to driving my car is the damn fumes given off by it. Is it cuz i have no cats, running too rich??? I have dual glasspacks and headers and only a 600 Holley carb. My eyes get irritated and start to water, its pissing me off. You can smell either gas or exhaust fumes from under the car and even standing back from it.

350 Chevy lil .30 over bore, stock heads, a lil cam, Holley 600, Holley Street Dominator Intake, Headers that's about it for upgrades
sounds like your idle circuit is fat. count the # of turns to seat the idle mix screw (or screws) then back it out 1.5-2 turns. This will usually be in the ballpark. This is assuming you have the timing set correctly, and good cap, rotor, plugs and wires.

might be running rich, do you have full interior in the car? i know when i did a aluminum interior in my s-10 it got really bad
You shouldn't be smelling any fumes no matter how strong they are unless you have some floor rot somewhere where the exhaust fumes are creeping in. Or maybe if you have your tail pipes exiting before the rear tires?
NO Floor Rot at all, clean underneath, and my exhaust exit the rear. I have all my interior panels in, cept the pass side door panel and weatherstrip but even then the fumes were strong. it is coming from under the car, had a cheap exhaust job done, so maybe there is a leak??
so i took my car my mechanic, and had him jet the car down 4 steps, assuming this would solve my problem...well it didn't, and I'm gettin frustrated...my car stinks! when I step out you can smell fumes bad...I can't smell it in the cabin with the windows up, so I know it's not leaking in...anyone else know what else I can do? I'm really thinking it's my exhaust, and not having catalytic converters but idk...I use super unleaded Shell gas every time i fill up, if that says anything...frustrated!!!! :evil:
