I know a decent amount of people who have GN's and its a common story from them.

but it also comes from the amount of power they can make. a buddy bent his axle tube in his GN last year its really what made me go with a 9"

Well he has been 10.19 once on that rear yrs ago and has been going high 10's and low 11's for yrs. I guess you couldnt ask much more from a bone stock posi and nothing more then a set of moser axles. His 60ft was wrong wasnt 1.8 it was 2.1. I have the slip because i was the only one to complete the pass. My wagon rear is 10bolt 8.5 but with many upgrades on theat launch i pulled a 1.55 60ft but mutalated the shifts. I really need to practice learning the reverse manual VB. I had time earlier today to look at trans it appears the trans builder forgot to install the clip that holds the governer cover so it popped loose. Just need to resael and get a clip.

nice my buddies GN was running around the same when his 8.5 gave up.

I guess thats the breaking point of those rears. Ill never know. I upgraded before I could break it

I guess its like the saying goes it not if its going to break but just a matter of when. Everything including your 9" has its limitations.

If I break my 9" I along with a million other people would be shocked to see to see it go. Its what we like to call Built!

Sorry to hear of you and your buddies misfortunes.

But.... if you aren't breaking parts you aint trying hard enough.

A top fuel team might use up several engines over a weekend but they have the resources to deal with it. It's a lot tougher for weekend warriors or rwyb enthusiasts.

I hope you can get up and running again without beating your wallets to death. 🙂

Roger.

That's one stiut grocery getter you got there...Can you tell us about the drivetrain? YOur buddy's Grand National is a sweer looking car as well...His Wife is even better looking 🙂

All the smoke from my wagon was from governor cover on trans popping loose. Easy fix

Now my buddy not so lucky. Shattered ring and pinion exploded the posi unit etc.

Jbreu. The drivetrain in my wagon is exactly whats listed in my signature. Motor spec and built completely by me. Never dynoed but will be chassy dynoed soon. The combo has been 11.18 @117 with a 1.89 60ft. But that was with a different trans and converter. On that day at track best was 11.27@119 with a 1.65 60ft with me mutalating the shift. Reverse manual VB has me all screwed up. On run in Video my 60ft was a 1.55 but i butchered and bounced off rev limiter in every gear

O and on the wife part I agree. Lol
