are there any other codes besides g80 that indicate a posi..looking at a t type for a parts car and no g80 in the codes which would be a deal killer for me
thanx

I believe that's the only one I've ever seen.

Unless the price is ridiculous, the 8.5" rear should be worth it, if it has it. You should be able to find a decent used posi reasonable.

yes it does have a 8.5 with 3.43 gears..basically it would cost me 450, the owner wants 900 and was going to split on the car as my buddy wants the turbo hood and he needs the 2004r transmission but who knows if its still good..been sitting under a tarp for 4-5 years..its a shame it could of been a real nice car but the interior is roached beyond repair due to moisture..and that damn tarp kept it all in, it does still have the motor as well, i guess its an 85 f.i. hot air car..supposedly only needed a coil pack and fuel pump..if i had the storage space i would probably go for it but right now i need things to be easy..hmmm

Most 85 T's i came across where peg leg 8.5 with 3.42 which is stock gear ratio. Even for $450 housing alone is the hard part to find and thats a great price. I wouldnt think twice.

hmm ok i will think on it..the car isnt posted for sale so it isnt going anywhere anytime soon..i only knew of it because a friend told me. the body is good on the car but i noticed some rust bubbles under the paint but nothing major..i wonder what the chances are the transmission is still good

I'd snag it. you can always sell something else off the car to put towards buying a REAL posi unit to put into it and you would havea na investment of about $800 total and would have a much better unit. You don't have to re-set all the gears to just add a posi unit. those LS diffs are bringing $600-900 in UNKNOWN condition. Crossy
