Well, I don't have a Monte SS, I'm building a Malibu wagon, but the parts are basically all the same. What I'm looking for are photos of the factory exhaust brackets and hangers in their respective positions on the car. I think I know what all I need and have acquired most although most are now discontinued. For example, here are some photos of some of the brackets and hangers I need to see in their correct orientation. Don't care about the front junk, only the rear.

The GM parts catalog probably has the crappiest picture of the components I've seen in a while. Might as well be a blob with a number pointing at it.

Now I know the following stuff is replacements for something but I don't know what.

Any photos of the factory stuff in the correct locations will be greatly appreciated. ... :?

Hey ssbrewskyaz,
Your top 3 pictures are the hangers at the rear of the car, numbers 14 and 15 on the GM diagram. Here they are on my 88 Monte SS. I had cut away the part which wraps around the pipe and welded the bracket to the pipe due to running 2.5 inch tailpipes. Your 2 pictures after the GM diagram are part of the hanger which mounts on the tailpipe behind the mufflers. I will attempt to get a shot of those this weekend. The last picture is the rear hanger (which I welded to the tailpipe) without the strap attached.
Hope this helps!
Bob S.

Thanks Bob,

It's always nice to see the animal in their home environment. That's exactly what I was looking for. Travel schedule has been brutal so I haven't really had the time to be sneakin around under peoples cars taking photos. Got all my junk held up with tiedown straps right now. ...

wow noticed my car dont have these :? i wondered why they bolted it to the frame does anyone make replacements ?

Scott,
I finally had the time to get the pictures of the hangers at the mufflers. These are the 2 hanger pictures after the GM diagram from your original posting .
Rock Auto has the rubber part of the hanger listed on their web site. It appears to be the same part used on the tailpipe of the single transverse muffler system.
Hope this helps with your install.

Cutty1,
I do not know if anyone is sells replacements which mount on the frame at the bumper mount but the part which is welded on the tailpipes in my pictures is also available on Rock Auto's web site.
