g body production numbers....all years

Oldsmobile B-body would be the Delta 88 or the wagon. No such thing as a B-body Cutlass. B-body is a full sized car. The A/G is an intermediate. I am at a loss as to what a 3K47 is ... front wheel drive Cutlass Calais?

nvm that is part of the VIN you are giving ... 13 digit VINs screw with me ... I've only had one car pre-1980. You have a 2 door Cutlass 78-80. Definately an A body .... G bodies started with the 82 model year ... which confuses many because cars like my 81 are the newer body style, yet there are still an A-body.

yes in 1982 GM in it's infinate wisdom decided the "new" Cutlass Ciera, Chevy Celebraty, Pontiac 6000 and Buick Century - all front wheel drive cars - should be the A-body platform and came up with a "new" designation of G for the rear wheel drive intermediate sized cars. Clear? I know clear as the Mississippi mud.

No, they all use the same springs and are all the same frame. The A and G difference on these cars is a technicality as GM wanted to use the A designation on the regrettable Celebrity/Ciera/6000/Century FWD cars instead, so they renamed ours G bodies instead.
