ok i have finally finished my motor and transmission and heater delete and interior etc now i am planning on tackling my suspension i just want it to keep up with the horses and performence when i got it it was a bone stock 1983 malibu wagon no power nothing lol it belonged to the sacramento park rangers dept and agriculture on the door you can still see us goverment department of agriculture andsomething about state parks when i looked into it it was owned by the county of sacramento wich was used for the park rangers patroll. well besides all that i yanked out the v6 and dropped the 383 stroker with a turbo 350 yadayadyada but now i want to stiffen the suspension and make it stronger to put up with watever ill throw its way so if anyone has ideas so far im fabbing up some subframe connectors wich will go on about next week and i am going tommorow to hunt down some front and rear sway bars than any other info will be appreciated and im trying to spend the least money since my budget isnt that large and my whole veiw towards this build was like a poor mans drag waggin lol and so far ive done great with that in mind between all the yards i hit up and parts i came accross so any info i would appreciate it thank you

Where do you plan on putting the subframe connectors? :? I would consider doing the springs, braces, and good bushings etc etc if you can replace all the flimsy rear control arms or brace them if doin it on a budget.

Are you putting together a strip car or a canyon carver (since you mentioned drag wagon)? It makes a difference how you set-up your suspension. Sway bars and HD springs don't go with both applications.

x2 it's gonna be hard to make subframe connectors on a full frame car. Boxing the frame is what you would do to achieve the same effect, but unless you are moving your brake and fuel lines, than some bolt on bracing is about all you will be able to do.

Just a heads up on the 5660 spring swap. I did this on my previous car, then put an new motor in with all aluminum top end. The lighter motor left the front end higher than I liked. Performance was great, but didnt like the look. There is another spring (maybe 5658? can't remember) that may be more suitable, maybe do some homework as it's not a swap I think you want to do twice ;o)
