While I agree that if he isnt building an 11 second car that headers are not neccessary or maybe even a good bang for the buck etc in comparison to the shorty headers. However if you use good gaskets such as www.remflex.com and coat them or bead blast and paint with several thin coats of good header paint they can last a long time without "maintenence".
