So I didn't thoroughly read the details on their website on how this crossmember fits short tails and I have a long version (looks to be 9"). However, I thought the mount locations on all TH400's were the same? Anyone have a longtail mounted to a G-force?

TH400 transmissions will fit under the gbody with a stock crossmember IF its a short tail. As far as I know...all G-force crossmembers are made for short tail transmissions (when applicable). Long tail transmissions will require shorter driveshafts and a custom made crossmember.

Edit...I stand corrected....looks like you need a 2004R crossmember according to the picture above.

I've got that same diagram and it looks as if the mount is in the same spot for all three tail lengths, 27-15/16". Which is why I assumed it would bolt right in.

I am thinking about just drilling a new hole to bolt up to the mount. The mount is just resting on the crossmember now and the flat surface of the rubber is completely on the rear edge of the crossmember, barely. After drilling a new hole, the edge of said hole would be 1/4" from the back of the brace. However, I am not confident with this idea, and after taking some pics I believe I may be SOL

How it sits now...

Stupid question, are your motor mounts in the correct holes for the drivetrain you are running? Alot of little things could stack up put everything out of line. You could try and elongate the holes in the trans mount and in the crossmember at all mounting holes. Drilling a hole in the crossmember where your mount is sitting at should not cause any problems either.

This car once had a 307 and a th200 non-od.It now has a sbc350 and a th400. The driveshaft has been shortened and the transmission was mounted to the modified original crossmember. I didn't do any of the work but I drove it for a short while after the swap and am now putting dual exhaust on. So can't answer your question, but it was driveable. I do like your idea of elongating the mounting holes, too many times I overlook the obvious. It won't move the mounting holes enough to line up but it will move the mount forward enough to ease my mind...thanks!

That is not a TH400 mount. That is the TH350/four speed (manual) transmission mount. Try a TH400 trans mount for a big car Buick, like a Le Sabre say '74 or so...

Looks like this:

It is off set, see if that helps.

Ancor #2374 $4.29 at the local parts house here....

The mount I have looks identical to the TransDapt Th400 mount. Here is the EnergySuspension mount...

Either way, it's in now and I was able to move the mount hole just over a 1/4" towards the front.
