Gas Tank 2 door and 4 door are they interchangeable

Are the gas tanks for a 2 door same as the tank for a four door car (g body)?Part numbers are different.What are the differences?

Between models I know the filler necks differ. I used a Regal tank IIRC on my Monte and had to have the neck swapped for it to fit properly. If I had to guess, this would be the only difference with four doors as well.
