Gas Tank Ground Wire

Hey guys

Got my new gas tank installed in my 1979 Cutlass. When I dropped the old gas tank there was no wire for ground at the sending unit, not sure why but it wasnt there. Anyways now that I have my new gas tank installed with new sender, I am not sure where the ground wire is supposed to connect. I am sure I can put this ground in a good spot and it would work, but would prefer to know where it is really supposed to go, like from the factory.

My factory ground came off above where the back drivers idea strap is

Should be soldered to the top of the sending unit.
