The original topic of "G" bodies being hot is now lost in the muscle car debate. Some G body owners may cringe (the younger ones...I'm 49) at the fact that their car isn't a muscle car. Sorry but it isn't. It is more about the time period the car was produced vs. a time when economy was more important. Horsepower wars didn't exist in the mid 70's to the mid 80's really. Until the Mustang and Camaro begin fighting it out again it was almost 20 years since you could roll out a real performance car by checking the box. If I had the money my choice isn't a G body. My choice is a mid 60's car with nice lines and FACTORY power to make it fun. We have to take nice cars and make them fun. I like the lines of my Cutlass but I don't love it. Styling was important back in the 60's. Our cars were transportation with a nice ride as they were intended for...
Back to the topic. It is nice to see these cars are getting some respect from manufactures to the fact that they have a following. They will never be a high dollar Barret Jackson car because they just don't have the hard core image (or power) that cars from the 60's did. That is the reality of it. Really though, what is important to you? Again I want a 60's car but for me my pile of junk can be a great performing car at a fraction of the cost of those sacred cars. I'm fine with that and that is what counts. So muscle car...not muscle car...doesn't matter. Enjoy it and don't worry about the other guy. You are the only one that has to be happy with it. F it...we are all here because we own one. They may not be God like but they beat the piss out of nothing.
