Has anyone ever done a brake upgrade from gbodyparts.com or there own utilizing S-10 Rear brake cylinders? If so what if anything needs to be changed when installing onto a 7.5" rear and/or an 8.5" rear?

I haven't done it yet but I plan to this year. Nothing needs to be changed as the 7.5 and 8.5 use the same hardware and wheel cylinders.

speedwaymotors.com has a decent kit for $300.00 and its also a bolt with no modification to the flange needed. As for the S10 rear wheel cylinder they work real good for a easy budget upgrade. They have to come from a 87ish with manual breakes but fronts need to be done first before the rear if not will have a nasty lock up.

I was planning on trying the rear upgrade too. The first issue I came across is that the larger s10 wheel cylinders use a different size brake line fitting. from m10x1.5 (metric) to 3/8-24. I guess you could either use an s10 brake line or run your own and use compression fittings.
besides that g=body wants like 50$ a pair and Autozone has them for like 9.99$. and the bore is a very minimal increase.

the brake cylinder your looking for in the mid 80's non power S10 brake cylinder. It has larger pistons so there is greater pressure on the shoes. It's a direct replacement so there is no need for any other upgrades or to modify or to change any parts to install the brake cylinders. I have used them for the last 5-6 years. I have friends who use them on their GN's and they can hold the back wheels from breaking loose up to 8 pounds which as they tell me is about double of what the stock cylinders could do.
