Yea but just stay off the highway lol! Could be fun.

If its your only driver and finances have you stuck with the 3 speed stick with the 3.08 IMO. Much better acceleration without being over the top.

this is not my daily driver just more of a toy/weekend car would prefer to have the 3.42 gears if i can

My GN has 3.42s with the overdrive but if I put it in third its one to one like an old three speed. If your 350 has aftermarket heads, headers, and a more aggressive cam you will really like the 3.42 on a non daily especially if you run a little taller tire like a 27 or 28" tire.

I have a fairly stock 350 chevy, small cam, intake and headers. I just put in a 3.42 with a lock rite locker in my 82 Cutlass with 245/60/14's. I like it so far, have not had it out on the highway yet due to the snow and salt right now on the roads.

Folks around here run 4.56's with a 3 speed and drive it every day. I don't think 3.73's are over the top. You will just cruise at 3-3.5k on the interstate.
